We're happy to share our 'Employees of the Month' for October. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of Adult Services, Children and Young People and Support Services and an extract from their nominations.
Susan Smith, Adult Services
I would like to vote for Sue because we do spa breaks together and go out together. She looks out for me and supports me to make decisions. For a little while now I have said I want to move out of my flat and Sue has been helping me with what options are available and having conversations with my family who were not very keen.
Local manager Sarah added:
“Sue and Jen have a great relationship that they have built over the last 10+ years. Jen’s relationship with her flat mate has deteriorated and Sue has been key in supporting Jen to work through her relationship with her. Sue recognises that choosing where to live is an "ordinary right" and goes hand in hand with the REACH standards. It looks like we have now found a solution and Jen should be able to move soon.”
Lee Watts, Children and Young People
Lee started working at the children’s home as one of our regular agency workers before becoming a MacIntyre employee. Lee has built a really good working relationship with all the young people at the children’s home and has supported the team at a last minute notice to come in and cover shifts at the weekend and even we were struggling to find cover for a last minute waking night shift.
Lynnette Rose, No Limits Bucks
It feels like Lynnette has always been with us. Since starting with MacIntyre, she has got stuck in with any student she supports and will always be happy to offer advice on students she doesn't directly support. Lynnette absolutely has the best interests of the students, and her colleagues at heart. She is willing to put her opinion forward and will not shy away from conflict if she feels other people are not doing the same. Lynnette has more than proved this over the last few weeks while fully advocating for a new student she feels is misunderstood and does not have her own voice, Lynnette is acting as the student’s voice! Lynnette is an absolute pleasure to be around, she always has a smile on her face and even if you feel you do not want to, she will inevitably put a smile on yours too. A real asset and true advocate for MacIntyre.
Jane Collier, Support Services
Jane thoroughly deserves to be nominated for MacInStars. She is such a dedicated, professional and understanding person - which are all qualities needed in the role of a busy Administrator. Since I started with the team a year ago, I've seen how passionate she is about trying to make sure processes run smoothly and can work for the organisation, the Community Teaching Facilitators and the students in the best way possible. Jane is always more than happy to help when she can to make sure all is OK and deadlines are met. On top of all that she always comes in with a smile on her face and I'm truly grateful to have her as my work buddy.
