Reflection of the week.

Learning Disability Week is a significant event that raises awareness and promotes understanding of learning disabilities. This year's theme, "Do you see me?" is explored through various powerful narratives shared by MacIntyre.

Do You See Me? - MacIntyre Survey 2024

MacIntyre's survey video is a summery of feedback from people who draw on support at MacIntyre and how MacIntyre aim to respond to comments and celebrate the increate of people who have filled out the survey as happy with their support and feeling safe.

Do You Understand Me? - Rhythm of Autism

On Tuesday we shared the throwback rap music video from Milton Keynes Advocacy group Shout Out called 'The Rhythm of Autism'. Which is a co-produced song about the experience of being an autistic person.

Will You Work With Me? - Ciaran's Employment

Ciaran's story of employment asks, "Will you work with me?" It illustrates the challenges and triumphs of gaining meaningful employment for individuals with learning disabilities. Ciaran's journey is a call to action for employers to create more inclusive workplaces and to recognize the valuable contributions that individuals with learning disabilities can make.

Do You Hear Me? - Jess Sutton's Self Advocacy Reels

Jess Sutton’s self-advocacy reels ask, "Do you hear me?" They highlight the power and necessity of self-advocacy for individuals with learning disabilities. Jess's work is a reminder that listening to and amplifying the voices of those with learning disabilities is crucial in advocating for their rights and needs.

Do You Include Me? - Jess Interview

Jess who lives in Warrington shares her story of feeling alone and disconnected before joining the Friendship Group and being encouraged to participate in activities and clubs in her local area. Since doing so her schedule is now packed and she even needs to have down time weeks to rest her social battery.
