Normalising conversations

3 April 2025
Blog post

As part of our ‘Let’s Talk. Period.’ Project, funded by Holland & Barrett and Wellbeing of Women, MacIntyre’s Health Team are challenging preconceptions and shifting the narrative around periods and menopause.

MacIntyre’s Health and Wellbeing Facilitator, Rachel Furniss, is leading the project, and shares her thoughts:

“At MacIntyre, we believe that everybody should have the same access to healthcare. We believe that starts with normalising conversations around what can be difficult subjects – we’ve changed perceptions around Death and Dying (Link), constipation (Link) and, in our latest project, we’re encouraging people to talk openly around periods and the menopause.

We think talking about periods and the menopause should not be taboo and that people should have the tools and knowledge to make these conversations easier.”

We are delighted to share with you this short video which explains the project and the positive impact gained from having these conversations.

Our thanks goes to Gemma, Jess, Bethan and Sui-Ling as well as Duckhouse Productions for their involvement in bringing this film together.
