MacIntyre's hall at Great Holm was filled with laughter recently as a well-attended comedy night brought people together for an evening of fun, connection and fundraising.
The event was a real success, and it was great to see people we support, staff and members of the public enjoying such a lively and fun night out. Six comedians took to the stage, each performing 20-minute sets, with the evening expertly hosted by a compere whose daughter attends MacIntyre School in Wingrave – a local connection that added to the sense of community.
The line-up was kindly arranged by Barnaby, who runs The Roadhouse Comedy Club. I met Barnaby through Elizabeth House Care Home in Stony Stratford, highlighting how relationships across local providers can spark events like this one.
Thanks to fantastic staff support on the night and generous attendance, the event raised an impressive £450 profit. Every penny will go towards funding a future event for everyone supported at Lifelong Learning.
With such positive feedback from all involved, plans are already underway to hold another comedy night soon!
