We are big Star Wars fans here at Kennington! And we love a celebration. We wanted to connect with people locally and local businesses and a summer fair seemed like a great way to bring people together.
I reached out to someone I know who runs a company Troopers UK. They dress up as Storm Troopers. They were keen to come to our summer fair and promote their business and we were keen to have them. They stood outside and encouraged passers by to join in the fun.
There were some fantastic performances from the MacIntyre Dancers, Cordell and Roisin. And John performed his signature song “You’ll never walk alone”, which brought people from the pub across the road to clap and cheer.
We had a BBQ and sold cakes. And we asked local crafts people to come along. There were stalls selling sweets, badges, toiletries and croc charms. Families could play pool and other games whilst getting to know each other.
There were a couple of heavy downpours but we all had a great time.
One stall holder said that they were so impressed and it was great to come and find out more about what we do!
