We have some fantastic employees at MacIntyre and every month one person from each division is chosen to be our Employee of the Month.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of MacIntyre Adult Services, Children and Young People, MacIntyre No Limits™, and Specialist Support Services, together with an extract from their nominations.
Sharon Barlow: Adult Services, Warrington
Sharon has shown great resilience over the past two months dealing with people we support at a time when they needed to feel safe and informed about some changes. Sadly a project we had been closely involved with had to end.
Sharon understood the impact this would have on people. She tackled it in the best way possible, using all her communication skills to explain that they would not be going to the venue anymore. Sharon made sure that everyone, including family members, had a voice and was heard.
Bethan Foxcroft: Children and Young People, Buckinghamshire
I am always forgetting that Bethan is a fairly new member of staff. She is creative in thinking on her feet and proactively anticipates young people's needs. She is flexible in her approach, adjusting her communication methods and activities best suit the young person. She is a natural.
I am especially proud of how well she did on the recent Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition. She showed great initiative in taking on extra responsibilities when another member of the team fell ill. She jumped right in with a great attitude. This is how Beth acts in class as well. As a teacher, it is lovely to have a learning assistant who takes initiative and does not wait to be told or given a list of tasks. She simply observes what needs to get done and does it.
Louise McKay: No Limits, Oxfordshire
Louise has been a much valued member of the team at MAP College for nearly four years.. She lives and breathes the Macintyre DNA, constantly putting our students at the heart of everything she does.
Louise is very good at seeing a situation that needs supporting and without seeking permission just quietly helping. She is supportive to the rest of the team and simply gets on with her job without any fuss or craving for praise. I believe her receiving recognition is overdue
Amy Barrow: Specialist Support Services
The moment I had the pleasure of meeting Amy at her interview I knew straight away that she would be a perfect member of the MacIntyre family. She did not prove me wrong!!! Amy is an all-round positive, kind and caring person whose values fit perfectly with MacIntyre’s DNA. She is amazing at her role as administrator. She is organised, hardworking and a real support to us all – our backbone.
She has led on the development of our Greater Manchester Facebook page, encouraging us all to be proud and to share the amazing things that people are doing.
Amy has created a warm, welcoming office in Wigan. It's a lovely environment for staff, people who draw on our support, colleagues and visitors, with a brew and biscuit always being on offer!
