We have some outstanding employees at MacIntyre and every month one person from each division is chosen to be our Employee of the Month.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of MacIntyre Adult Social Care, Children and Young People, MacIntyre No Limits™, and Specialist Support Services, together with an extract from their nominations.
Dennis McQuillan – Adult Social Care, Greater Manchester
I am nominating Dennis for the real passion he has when supporting Jackie, a lady we support. He works with Jackie, her family and the team to be ambitious for her. After a long period of not wanting to go out, not wanting to engage and spending most of the time on her own, Jackie is now going out shopping, days out locally, and has got her spark back. She even went to the Halloween disco, having a dance and chat, which was amazing to see. Dennis has worked with a newer staff team, who initially found supporting challenging at times, but now absolutely love coming in to work, and are following Dennis's lead with trying new ways, things and approaches.
Jackie does not like people in her home and will ask them to leave. Her house really needed new decoration and flooring. Dennis worked with her to choose a new floor and made sure it was arranged for a day he could be there to support her to go out. Dennis had also arranged for a decorator to go in to give a quote but Jackie did not want him in her home so last Friday, Dennis covered the late shift and stripped and papered Jackie's lounge. Jackie helped to begin with, then sat and directed operations! Their relationship is great to observe. Dennis has worked hard to build trust and continues to lead the team by example and be ambitious for what is next for Jackie.
Samantha Foster – Children & Young People, Wingrave
Sam has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and effectiveness in her role as a housekeeper, making her an invaluable member of our team. She excels in welcoming new students, ensuring they feel comfortable and settled in their new environment. Her efforts in preparing their rooms and creating a welcoming atmosphere have not gone unnoticed. She maintains the overall cleanliness and organisation, which have significantly contributed to a positive and productive environment.
Beyond her regular duties, Sam has consistently gone above and beyond to support her colleagues and the young people. Her willingness to assist during challenging times, such as when children are experiencing difficulties, is truly admirable. Last Christmas, Sam's decorating skills shone brightly as she transformed our space into a festive environment that uplifted everyone's spirits. Her creativity and effort during this time were particularly commendable and contributed significantly to our holiday celebrations. When Sam briefly moved on to another position, we immediately felt her absence and the impact it had on our operations. Her return was met with immense joy from the entire team, as we recognized how crucial she is to maintaining our standards of excellence. Sam embodies the values we strive for in the organization: dedication, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Magdalena – MacIntyre No Limits Bedfordshire
Magda is a fantastic role model for positive engagements for all. She supports both staff and students to achieve their best and creates a workplace that people want to come to. Magda is passionate about what we do and how we can achieve highly as a team. Magda leads from the front and ensures that everyone is able to complete their job role to the best of their ability.
Grace Wilks – Specialist Support Services
Over the past year, I've had the privilege of working with Grace creating Easy Read documents. Grace is always at hand to provide support and her expert guidance has been invaluable for me to improve my knowledge and understanding creating Easy Reads. Grace always responds promptly and has a positive and calm approach to her work. Grace is a true professional and shows great knowledge and confidence helping to lead the Advisors group. I appreciate Grace as a colleague and wanted to nominate her just so she knows how brilliant she is and how valued her work is. I look forward to working with Grace more in the future!
