Today we would like to introduce you to Jim Raj from Leicester Supported Living. Jim was nominated for this year’s Marjorie Newton Wright Award in the Learning and Development Champion category by a family member of someone supported by MacIntyre.
They said:
“Jim is truly an inspiration; since starting in the team supporting our son he has brought energy to the role with a gifted insight into what makes Peter* tick.
This year Jim encouraged Peter to sign up for courses in literacy and numeracy. Although Peter was uncertain, with Jim’s gentle encouragement Peter went along, enjoyed it, made new friends, learned new skills and decided to sign up for the next academic year. This wouldn’t have happened without Jim’s faith in Peter's abilities and the time taken to work with Peter to achieve the best he can. This learning and development has been a key factor to my son’s overall development this year.”
