Growing Kindness in the Community

15 August 2025
News

It all started with a simple conversation. Brandon’s mum shared how much he used to love taking care of the garden when he was still living at home. Gardening, she said, had always been his true passion.

Inspired by this, one of our Team Leaders at the children's home in Wingrave had a thoughtful idea: what if we created a poster to let the community know Brandon would be happy to help anyone who might need a hand with their garden?

We shared the poster in the Wingrave village Facebook group, not knowing what to expect. To our surprise, the response was overwhelming! Messages started pouring in, and within days, Brandon was fully booked.

Early results showed how well Brandon's services have been received. The first two neighbours he visited were absolutely delighted with the results, and that's simply continued. With his care, attention to detail, and clear love for what he does, it’s no wonder people are so excited to have him around. Brandon's now booked up beyond mid-August.

What makes this project even more special is that Brandon isn’t doing it alone. He’s invited his friends — the people he lives with — to join him, and together they’ve made it a real team effort. Working side by side, they bring positive energy, teamwork, and shared joy to each garden they visit. It’s been a fantastic way for them to spend time together, learn new skills, and give back to the community.

Brandon offers his help entirely for free — simply because he loves doing it. But we wanted to find a way for those who wished to say thank you. Knowing how much Brandon loves dogs, we suggested that anyone who wants to contribute can donate to Chiltern’s Dog Rescue, a local charity close to his heart.

Now, through their kindness, Brandon and his friends aren’t just transforming gardens — they’re brightening lives, building friendships, and helping rescue dogs in need too. What started as one young man’s passion has blossomed into something truly special, connecting neighbours and spreading joy all around.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Brandon and Noble who did a great job with the weeding of my front garden yesterday. If Brandon is up for it, he can get some regular work as we also have a back garden that needs some attention!

    - Sylvie, one of Brandon's customers

From one poster to a fully booked summer, Brandon’s garden project is proof that when we share what we love — and do it together — beautiful things can grow.
