Introducing Bee Gosai

10 February 2025
News

Today we’re introducing Bee Gosai, who joined MacIntyre recently in the new role of Head of Lifelong Learning and Community.

Working across Leicestershire and Derbyshire, we asked Bee what her job will entail. She told us that as we expand in the area, a lot of her day-to-day focus will be on developing relationships. That will be with people who have lived experience, their families, and with commissioners at local authorities. Bee will also be building on MacIntyre’s work to make connections in our local communities – part of our Everyone Everywhere approach in which we ask “how can we help?”.

MacIntyre already has a strong presence in Leicester and Chesterfield, and Bee will be looking at how we can grow by providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to have more options around lifelong learning – opportunities that are individual and imaginative, and that make a real difference.

Of course we were keen to find out what has led Bee to MacIntyre. Her background is in forensic care within mental health services and Welfare to Work. Bee has worked as deputy CEO within the prison services, achieving better outcomes for prisoners by ensuring they are treated as individuals rather than as numbers. She has been involved in implementing several DWP contracts aimed at assisting individuals who are most distanced from the labour market in securing sustainable employment, developing customised support packages to help them reach these objectives. In all her roles she has lent a keen eye to the detail, whether that’s financial controls and growth, or the careers of the people she has managed.

When Bee saw the advertisement to work at MacIntyre, she saw the opportunity to ensure lifelong pathways for people, rather than the short-termism that is often part of adult social care. It seemed like a match made in heaven with her career experience and aspirations, both for herself and for people supported.

So we’re extremely glad to have Bee on board. It's going to be a busy job, so we asked Bee what she does to unwind and relax. She told us that as well as the day job, she is a professional competitive body-builder. We’re sure that with all that combined energy, Bee will be a great asset to MacIntyre.
