As part of MacIntyre's Everyone Everywhere movement, pupils in Pigeon Class at MacIntyre School in Wingrave have been taking time to reflect on what it means to be connected to their local community.
Over the past year they've discovered that being part of a community isn't just about where you live, it's about relationships and contribution.
Pupils are a familiar sight around the village, regularly stopping to chat with people - and dogs - that they meet on walks. Being recognised and greeted has helped young people feel a sense of belonging.
Pupils have also found lots of ways to give back. They help keep the village looking its best through litter-picking, support local events and businesses, and lend a hand at the church with cleaning, and decorating the Christmas tree. They also spend time caring for local horses, helping with feeding and mucking out.
Their connections extend to local services too, with visits to the library and swimming pool helping them feel part of everyday village life. Along the way they have developed a deeper appreciation of the environment through recycling projects, nature walks and learning about the world around them.
Reflecting on these experiences, everyone recognises that community is built through small everyday actions: helping others, getting involved and taking an interest in the people and places around them. Through Everyone Everywhere, they have shown everyone can play a part in making their community stronger.
