Shropshire’s Success

6 August 2019
News

Person-Centred, creative and flexible are just some of the reasons why MacIntyre Welsh Marches in Shropshire was officially rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission, with an ‘Outstanding' rating in the 'Responsive' category.

Delighted with the result Emma Killick, Director of Adult Services, commented:

“I am very proud of the team, being rated as Outstanding in terms of “responsiveness” is a reflection of all the hard work that has been happening across the area in recent years to ensure we are providing a service that is right for people.”

Rowan Jackson, Area Manager for Shropshire said:

"As a team of old and new, our shared values and passion mean that we will always be focused on the enabling the best quality of life for the amazing people we have the privilege to support. We could not be any prouder to be a part of our Shropshire team."

According to the inspector, the team at MacIntyre Welsh Marches met the needs of the people supported to ensure flexibility, choice and continuity of care:

"Staff were exceptional at helping people to express their opinions so they understood things from their points of view. They used creative ways to make sure people were able to understand complex medical and social information."

Speaking to professionals about the support provided, the inspector heard there was a focus on providing person-centred care, which achieved exceptional results.

One professional said:

"The staff are exceptional in the way they offer care and support. It is so much more than a job for them, but they manage to give this care and support within the realms of all professional boundaries."

One person said:

“All of the staff are lovely and help me every day. That's what I like about them. One family member said: ”I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their thoughtfulness and compassion.”
