Working with adults in 2024

4 January 2024
News

Are you looking for a new job or career change in 2024? Have you considered working with adults who have learning disabilities or are autistic?

At MacIntyre, we have regular opportunities for Support Workers in England and Wales.

About the job

As a Support Worker, you might be working at one of our learning centres, supported living, outreach or registered care services.

What does this mean?

Well you'll find a fuller description of each opportunity in individual job adverts, but fundamentally our approach is to support everyone to enjoy 'gloriously ordinary lives' and to be a valuable part of their local community.

You'll find inspiring examples of what people can achieve in our Everyone Everywhere series of stories.

You don't usually need experience to be a Support Worker, we'll provide full, free training.

More about supporting adults

Day Opportunities

Our Lifelong Learning programmes offer a range of opportunities for people to continue to learn new skills and have new experiences.

Supported Living

Supporting people with a learning disability to live a life that makes sense to them is central to everything we do at MacIntyre. We know that having the opportunity to have their own tenancy and live as independently as possible is very important to many of the people we support.

Registered Care

Our Registered Care homes across the country support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Each of our inclusive homes is unique and the support we provide is person-centred, with each individual’s needs, views and preferences shaping how their support is delivered.

Homes not Hospitals

MacIntyre is at the forefront of supporting people to move from long stay hospitals, inpatient facilities and assessment and treatment units back into their own communities.

Shared Lives (Warrington)

In Warrington, MacIntyre runs the Shared Lives programme. Shared Lives is the little known alternative to home care and care homes for disabled adults and older people. It means people experience ordinary family life, living with a Shared Lives Carer.
