We’re delighted to recognise four colleagues as our Employees of the Month for February, celebrating the skill, commitment and teamwork they bring to their roles across MacIntyre.
Hannah Thorne – Oxford LLL (Adult Social Care)
Hannah has been a real champion of Everyone Everywhere over the past year, showing how creative thinking can bring people together and make a difference.
After spotting a Facebook post asking for toy donations for a Christmas lights display raising money for Sobell House Hospice, Hannah reached out to ask if we could help. People we support gathered donations, sorted and tidied them in our pop-up shop, and chose toys they thought would bring joy to children. Everyone felt proud knowing they were helping others, and the group were invited to see the display and be part of the celebration.
When we began planning activities for MacIntyre’s 60th anniversary, Hannah suggested collaborating with a local candle-maker whose business she knew. People we support tested different fragrances and voted for a raspberry scent: fruity, vibrant and sweet. They then chose the candle shape, settling on a puzzle piece because it symbolised how we are all different but fit together.
The finished candle is now being sold online, with the design, scent and packaging chosen by the group. Hannah has shown real leadership, creativity and determination to turn ideas into something meaningful, and her positive, “can-do” approach continues to inspire the team.
Kieran Tite – MacIntyre School (CYP)
Kieran has only been with us a short time, but he has already made a strong impression through his dedication and rapid development as a Learning Support Assistant.
He has been flexible in moving between classes to meet the needs of the school and our young people, adapting quickly despite being a newer member of staff. Kieran has worked hard to strengthen his interactions with the young people he supports, and the progress he has made has been clear to both his class team and leadership.
In just a few months he has achieved his Competent Practitioner award in Intensive Interaction, demonstrating his ability to think on his feet, respond to different situations and always keep the young people at the centre of his work.
Kieran embodies MacIntyre’s values and DNA, and we are proud to have him as part of the team.
Shannon Brickles – No Limits (Milton Keynes)
Shannon recently joined us as Senior Administrator and has fitted into the team seamlessly.
She is friendly, approachable and always ready to help, quickly becoming a reliable and valued member of the team. Shannon has taken on her role with enthusiasm and confidence, building positive relationships with colleagues across the service.
We work closely with Shannon on recruitment, and she has been fantastic at supporting this work while learning quickly on the job. Her organisation, responsiveness and willingness to help have made a real difference to the team.
We’re delighted to have Shannon with us and appreciate the positive energy she brings to the role.
Sarah Kilby – PBS Lead (Support Services)
Sarah is the PBS Lead for MacIntyre and plays a vital role in driving our Positive Behaviour Support approach across the organisation.
Recently, during a difficult situation, Sarah went above and beyond to support both the staff team and the person being supported. Despite the PBS team being short-staffed, she ensured colleagues felt supported, and alongside Jess, PBS Lead in the North West, made herself available for additional support over weekends.
When the Area Manager went on leave, Sarah also stepped in to help manage the area, supporting the Frontline Manager and guiding the team through the situation. Her calm leadership, expert advice and commitment ensured the best possible outcome.
Sarah consistently demonstrates professionalism, dedication and true teamwork. Her support made a real difference during a difficult time, and she deserves recognition for the care and expertise she brings to MacIntyre every day.
Congratulations to all our February Employees of the Month; thank you for the difference you make every day.
