Get ready to paddle!

2 March 2020
News

On Thursday 27 February, MacIntyre and Gable Events offered local businesses the chance to find out more about the 2020 Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival at the Meet of MK, hosted by local radio station MKFM.

We were delighted that SMC Pneumatics, who have taken part for the past few years and have already entered three Gold Teams for this year’s event, were also on hand to answer any questions.

MacIntyre is thrilled to be chosen once again as the charity partner for the Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival.

The event took place at The Holiday Inn at Marco’s New York Italian in Central Milton Keynes with a full-size dragon boat positioned in the main reception area. The team from the Holiday Inn were so inspired they signed up there and then!

The Festival returns to Willen Lake in Milton Keynes on Saturday 27th June and more than 40 crews are expected to battle it out in the brightly painted Chinese dragon boats over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators.

New for 2020, the festival will be using smaller 30’ (up to 11 person) dragon boats with reduced entry fees to make it easier for companies and organisations of all sizes to enter teams. The dragon boats and all racing equipment are provided, each team receives three races and no previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit.

Funds raised from this year’s event will support MacIntyre’s Coffee Shop at Great Holm in Milton Keynes. Join the fun - enter your team today!
