How does your fundraising help?

2 August 2019
News

At MacIntyre, we aim to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live a life that makes sense to them. Whilst we receive funding to provide for our core services, it is often the ‘extras’, which are brought to life by fundraising, that make a huge difference.

For some of the people we support, they dream of heading on a holiday of a lifetime. For others, funds raised can help them to learn a new skill.

Fundraising also provides our services with equipment, meaning the people we support can have new experiences and develop their confidence. As a result of your fundraising, we were able to give a host of musical instruments to Ampthill Lifelong Learning in Bedfordshire.

These instruments have helped many of the people we support to make stronger connections and express themselves. Music also serves as a tool to encourage the people we support to communicate with others around them.

Your fundraising efforts have also resulted in the refurbishment of the MacIntyre Coffee Shop in Stony Stratford, where many of the people we support will continue their learning. Whilst funds raised increased the size of the space, it also bought a fully accessible till, complete with visual aids, to ensure the people we support to feel confident when serving customers.

Most recently, your fundraising has resulted in a brand new garden for people we support in Milton Keynes to enjoy in the summer months.

Did you know that you can choose where the money you donate or raise will go within MacIntyre? Whether it’s a particular area that is close to your heart or a project you just can’t wait to support, our Fundraising Team are here to help.
