MacIntyre always wants to do better. We are a progressive organisation and want to have genuine impact on the world around us.
We are the solution to some of the big questions within the social and voluntary sector in the connections we form – through Social Care Future, Gloriously Ordinary Lives, and being More Than A Provider.
We are involved with the Social Care Future movement – making sure that people’s own experience and voices are heard by politicians and those outside the sector.
Gloriously Ordinary Lives, is the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to live an ordinary life which brings them pleasure and purpose. It encourages people to use the Five Tests in which to view and consider any support for a person or their family.
The Five Tests are:
- Would I want or accept that for me or for someone I love?
- Would I use that language in my kitchen with my family, or at the cade or pub with my mates?
- Would it make a great photo? What would the photo tell us?
- Would it strengthen and support the person's connections and relationships?
- Would it give the person a reason to get out of bed in the morning?

We are also More Than A Provider, one of six not-for-profit organisations that have come together to influence change in social care. Working together, we aim to influence and support those in power to make informed and aspirational decisions about the issues that affect us all.
