MKFM interview with Hayley Adams

11 August 2022
News

Hayley Adams, Job Coach for MacIntyre No Limits™, pops in for a chat with MKFM to discuss No Limits’ unique approach which enables young people with autism, special education needs and social, emotional and mental health needs to continue their education and develop skills in preparation for adulthood.

Hayley provides a brief overview of her role as a Job Coach for MacIntyre No Limits:

“When a student wants to find work, that’s where I would step in and support with everything from understanding what employment is; the different types of jobs available; right through to supporting them build their CV and one page profiles for employers to have. I would also help with searching and applying for roles and hopefully secure a successful work experience placement. MacIntyre provides a member of staff to work alongside each young person during their work placement with each employer.

A recent example where we’ve made a difference is for a young person who secured a six month work experience, which was extended and he has now been employed on a permanent basis.”

Hayley also discusses the future plans for MacIntyre No Limits:

“We are always growing and currently support more than 60 learners within Milton Keynes alone. We are now expanding into Bedfordshire, which will be a new No Limits provision which just shows the demand and the need for our support.”

You can listen to The MKFM podcast featuring Hayley Adams on the MKFM website.

Are you able to provide work experience and/or volunteer placements?

MacIntyre No Limits are looking for employers who can provide work experience for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Work experience is an important part of our learning programme at MacIntyre No Limits, to enable learners to apply their talents, whilst enhancing their social abilities.
