A key part of Everyone Everywhere and our community connections is how can we help others?
We know so many people affected by cancer who have been supported with advice and information from Macmillan. And we know so many people who are great bakers, brew makers and love having a natter.
People across MacIntyre held Macmillan Coffee Mornings in Bedford, Warrington, Chesterfield and London and connected and shared stories over a cuppa.
In Tooting, London, we connected with the Furzedown Project, a space for people to come together, and collaborated with them to hold the coffee morning for people locally.
We spoke with some of the people who went along to find out what made the coffee morning such a success. This is what people who draw on support and their staff told us.
We got to meet new faces we never met before. And they tasted our cakes so I know they will want us to come back!
Nice that we could come together and do something and see what goes on
It was good to let people know we are here! Spread the word that we want to be part of what’s happening.
I was so happy I met with different people. Our DJ was poorly so he couldn’t come, so next time I want it to be more lively. Some music, even more of a vibe!
We were bringing people in off the street and encouraging them to get involved and meet with us.
Coffee morning was clever. I liked the fruit cake
We made £323 for Macmillan! And we had a great day.
We enjoyed it so much we made plans for what next.
Really proud of everyone who baked, brewed and attended!
