After months of planning, MacIntyre in Derbyshire held their Autumn Ball on 27 October at The Winding Wheel Ballroom in Chesterfield.
Ball gowns, dickie bows and sparkle
People who draw on our support, family members, friends, local authority and our wonderful staff volunteers all got their glad rags on. Ball gowns, dickie bows and sparkle were the theme of the night… and what a night it was!
Red carpet living
Our official photographer, Nat, greeted everyone as they arrived on the red carpet. It was like arriving at the Oscars!
The entertainment was second to none, enjoying local songstress Mollie Fay, DJ Paul Steers and the excellent Loxleigh band.
A gloriously good night out
What struck me the most was the way in which the people we support were given the opportunity to ‘enjoy a gloriously good night out’ and mix with their friends outside of ‘service land’. I noticed one gentleman we support go to the bar independently and order himself a drink with a smile on his face. It is my favourite photograph of the night.
