Q&A with Lorraine Devereux

29 November 2018
News

Could you introduce yourself and what your role involves?

“My name is Lorraine Devereux and I am thrilled to be MacIntyre’s new Events and Corporate Fundraiser. I have an exciting role, which, at the heart of it, is about people. I enjoy meeting new people; whether it’s at an event; those taking on amazing, often physically demanding challenges, or meeting the inspiring people that MacIntyre supports.”

What are you looking forward to most about your new role?

“Since joining MacIntyre 14 months ago, I hear or see something every week that reaffirms why I love working here. There is so much more for me to learn and share about the work we do and Fundraising is a great platform allowing me to do that.”

What’s your favourite thing about working at MacIntyre?

“I really enjoy that no two days are the same and in Fundraising we are often doing the most random of things, but love that! I work alongside some fantastic people and everyone feels that together the role they play, makes a difference to the people that we support.”

How can I get involved/fundraise for MacIntyre?

“It’s so easy to get involved! We can help you come up with an idea and plan for it, or if you have the idea already we would love to hear from you. We can offer support and guidance to make the very best of your fundraising experience. If you work for a company, it’s a great way to get all your team involved with the local community.

Did you know that you could also volunteer at our upcoming events? Whether you are welcoming guests or selling raffle tickets, it’s a chance to have fun and make a difference!”

The MacIntyre Christmas Fair is coming up on December 2, what can we expect?

“We are really excited about this year’s Christmas Fair, as there are over 60 stalls joining us at the Antiques Centre, located within Woburn Abbey. There’s also the opportunity to have lunch with Santa in the Sculpture Gallery, once you have finished shopping. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 2 December. Tickets are available on our website but also on the door, on the day.”

What else is coming up?

“We are thrilled to be part of the Franklins £50 Challenge which kicks off on January 24 2019. It’s a fabulous challenge and a great day. Details can be found below, so get in touch if you’d like to be involved.”
