Ready, steady...cook!

14 March 2019
News

At MacIntyre, we promise to support every individual to feel good about themselves and this can often involve supporting people to learn new skills.

Sally from Shropshire has been swapping convenience foods for healthy and wholesome homemade meals...and loving it. After sharing that she was conscious of her weight, Sally began to take a look at the meals she was eating.

Aware that her diet consisted of quick fixes such as instant noodles, Sally began to test out healthier recipes with staff.

Speaking about Sally, her staff said:

"Sally had spoken about wanting to lose some weight. We talked about her diet and how she does not eat a variety of foods. Sally said she likes other foods, but doesn't always have the motivation to cook."

Staff worked together with Sally to prepare a menu full of recipes that Sally liked. Now when it comes to dinner time, Sally has easy access to healthier choices and is enjoying making recipes such as vegetable-filled curries.

Sally's staff added:

"Sally was proud of herself and very happy with the results. She hopes that with exercise and a better diet she will reach her goal of losing some weight and being healthier."
