Today, over 40,000 people woke up inspired, amazed and perhaps a little sore after taking on the 39th London Marathon yesterday. Amongst the crowd, six runners proudly donned purple MacIntyre T-shirts and took on 26.2 miles to raise money for the people we support.
After hours of training, continued dedication and determination, our six runners crossed the finish line having raised over £13,000.
Speaking about the event, MacIntyre’s Events and Corporate Fundraiser Lorraine Devereux said:
“Our Team MacIntyre London Marathon runners have been phenomenal this year, showing such dedication to both training and fundraising. It has been a pleasure to follow their journey. For some of our runners, this was their first marathon and the opportunity to realise a dream to run in London. ”
She added:
“Their commitment to supporting us and to raise money so we can continue to provide the support and care that we do, to children, young people and adults with a learning disability/and or autism, has been remarkable. Thank you to all our 2019 runners – we think you are amazing!”
On behalf of everyone at MacIntyre, we would like to say Thank You to everyone who fundraised this year, especially those who ran in support of MacIntyre: Peter Baker, Jo Greengrass, Emma Slaney, Andrew Miller, Elaine Fraser and Sadie Galvin!
