The PBS Coaches graduate

18 October 2018
News

Earlier in the month, several of our staff members successfully completed their fourth and final day of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Coaches Programme.

The programme, which is assessed by the British Institute for Learning Disabilities (BILD), provides techniques to help to understand behaviours of concern over four days, with a work-based assignment in between.

What is PBS?

A Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach involves focusing on improving a person’s quality of life and understanding the reasons behind any behaviours of concern. As a result, behaviours of concern and use of restrictive practices are reduced. We successfully adopt a PBS approach across all divisions and services of MacIntyre by implementing our PBS policy and Good Practice Guides.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a PBS Coach, please contact your Area Manager, or alternatively contact Belinda Bradley, Head of Positive Behaviour Support at MacIntyre via [javascript protected email address]
