Winners at the Dementia Care Awards and South East Great British Care Awards

13 November 2017
News

It’s safe to say that MacIntyre is floating on cloud nine at the moment, with not one but TWO more award-wins last week.

After an extremely successful few days at UK Dementia Congress, the Dementia Project team were delighted to win the Outstanding Dementia Care Innovation Award at the 2017 Dementia Care Awards. The Project was commended for its people-first approach, which was also demonstrated through the day of sessions we hosted at UK Dementia Congress, where Experts by Experience Rosie, Rachel and Jess told their stories and spoke proudly of their achievements.

Our award success didn’t stop there, as Saturday night saw one of our teams in Milton Keynes take home the End of Life Care Award at the South East Great British Care Awards – the third regional winner so far. The team will now join our other National finalists, Will Black and Tina Dutton, at the National Finals in Birmingham in Spring 2018.

The judges said:

“Hearing Sarah share Alison’s story is one which makes you feel inspired and grateful for people like her in the world. The determination, passion and commitment to keeping Alison at home was truly inspirational.”

We look forward to hearing about the results from the East Midlands Great British Care Awards, taking place 17 November, and the West Midlands Great British Care Awards, taking place 24 November.
