As a recent graduate, I had little experience in the working world, so when the opportunity to work with MacIntyre's Marketing and Fundraising team came from a series of networking links, I had to take it.
The week began with me taking a trip to MacIntyre's central office in Milton Keynes and resulted in lots of hands-on experience; from learning how to appreciate and understand statistics, to writing tweets and news articles. I was also able to help with proofreading press releases, as well as inputting data into the spreadsheets to gather information on website engagement.
Not only this, but I was also able to learn about the 'Events and Corporate Fundraiser' role and prepare ‘Save the Date’ cards for an upcoming fundraising event.
On the Thursday of my week with MacIntyre, I was able to sit in on the team's planning day, focusing on growth, engagement and recruitment. This was an eye-opener for me and showed me the importance of working as a team.
Through my work experience, I was able to understand the role the Marketing and Fundraising team play at MacIntyre. This has allowed me to gain experience in a marketing and communications environment and is now something I would like to pursue as a career. This is all thanks to the wonderful Marketing and Fundraising team at MacIntyre and their willingness to teach me the tricks of the trade. Thank you so much!
