Alyssa would love a pet. Especially rabbits. Maddie isn’t so sure.
They’re good friends who share a house in Aylesbury. But when it comes to animals, they couldn’t be more different.
So instead of pushing it, they tried something else.
Maddie had some old bedding she didn’t need anymore. The local RSPCA were looking for donations, so they decided to take it down together.
Maddie met the team and had a look around. She saw where the bedding would go, and what it would be used for. She saw goats, pigs and small animals.
She’s still not keen on holding the animals, but she’s started to enjoy being around them. Watching, and getting used to it in her own time.
Now, when they visit, Maddie brings vegetables to donate and it really matters to her.
They haven’t decided what comes next: maybe they’ll adopt rabbits; maybe they won’t.
For now, they’re showing up, helping out, and figuring it out together.
And that’s more than enough to be going on with.
