Are you looking for a new job or career change in 2024? Have you considered working with young people who have learning disabilities or are autistic?
At MacIntyre, we have regular opportunities for Community Teaching Assistants at our Post-16 Education centres in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the East Midlands.
An unusual role
Teaching Assistants at MacIntyre aren't usually classroom based. In fact we often say that "the community is our classroom". Your role will involve working with learners aged between 16 and 25 who have learning difficulties or autism.
The majority of learning will be out in the community, depending on the needs of the young person. Our educational programme, which is bespoke to each learner, covers key life skills and appropriate lessons in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
You don't need experience, we'll provide full, free training, and we will support you to achieve your Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
More about our post-16 education
We work in partnership with Further Education and Independent Specialist colleges to provide an inclusive and flexible model of education for young people aged 16 and over.
The unique MacIntyre No Limits™ approach enables young people with autism, special education needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs to continue their education and develop skills in preparation for adulthood.
You'll get a flavour for what we do from this film from one of our education centres:
