Our presence in Cheshire is ever-expanding as we offer various types of support, care and education for adults and young people with learning disabilities.
Warrington is where our Shared Lives scheme originated and where our Memory Café has strengthened ties with the local community, including the local rugby club, the Warrington Wolves.
The people we support at our Registered Care homes and Supported Living accommodation across Cheshire take part in a variety of activities to suit their skills and interests. This includes swimming, cycling, yoga and gardening. We also provide many opportunities for the people we support to socialise and build relationships, such as through seasonal discos, advocacy groups, craft clubs, trips to the cinema and through the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme which runs through our Learning Centre in Warrington.
The Checkers, a group of people supported and employed by MacIntyre who assist in the creation and approval of communications that are made accessible to anyone using a MacIntyre service, are also based in Warrington.
Additionally, Warrington is the test site for our ground-breaking Great Communities project, which we are working on with Community Catalysts. Together, we are finding innovative ways to think about care and community, push boundaries and learn lessons of national significance.
