Ben has been supported by MacIntyre most of his life and with support from our team in Milton Keynes, has become a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and wanted to express this. With his 50th birthday on the horizon, the team worked with Ben to organise a party he wouldn't forget.

When the day arrived, the garden was covered in decorations, kindly gifted by Natasha Hayward at Scenery Settings and Milton Keynes Pride Festival. Ben was thrilled to be joined by his friends and family and was treated to performances from Drag Queen duo Alotta Teal and Jackie, along with music from DJ Matt, whilst enjoying a rainbow cake handmade by Dotty Bakes.

Speaking about the event, Cate, a member of the team said:

"Alotta and Jackie got Ben up onto the stage to perform his all-time favourite musical number with them. Ben strutted on the stage performing 'My Name is Tallulah' brilliantly. Given that Ben and his key worker sing and dance to this regularly whilst they are cooking dinner, it's no surprise that he was so good!"

Speaking about his birthday Ben said:

“It was brilliant and I felt like a celebrity! I got lots of presents and had a really good time.”

When we asked what his favourite part was, he said “ALL OF IT!”

Ben is now very much looking forward to attending the Milton Keynes Pride Festival on 11th September.
