At MacIntyre to invest in the continuing professional development of our staff, we provide access to best practice groups known as the ‘MacIntyre Special Interest Groups’. These groups encourage specialist discussions among staff, in topics such as autism, dementia, and health.
This week, the ‘Dementia Special Interest Group' was held in the North for the first time.
In 2011, we set up the ‘Dementia Special Interest Group' in response to the changing needs of the people we support, where our staff could share best practice and up-to-date research.
Since then, the South group has featured a host of fantastic guest speakers and has encouraged staff to continue to develop their skills to provide the best support possible for people with learning disabilities and dementia.
We are delighted that these opportunities will also now be available in the North.
