MacIntyre’s Warrington Lifelong Learning team were the worthy winners of the 2021 ‘Innovation’ award at the recent Marjorie Newton Wright staff awards.
During Covid, the Warrington Learning Centre team, led by Darren, reached out to people in all sorts of ways, delivering resources, taking the offer online and thinking about how to ensure people remained connected. As the pandemic continued they used their initiative to partner with a new innovative service called The Puddle Project (Home - The Puddle Project) whose objective is to create a social enterprise that bring physical and mental wellbeing to the local community and provide a rural educational facility for those with special needs.
The project took time to set up and now encourages the development of new relationships. It was developed in a way that kept everyone safe whilst allowing them to connect together again.
People love attending The Puddle Project and it’s had a positive impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing. There have been positive opportunities for everyone such as Halloween fun and even a team building day for our front line managers in Warrington.
