Leaders in Sport

24 November 2019
News

It's the final day of National Safeguarding Adults Week 2019 and we are ending on the theme of 'Safeguarding in Sport'.

On Tuesday 19 November, we held our annual Inspiring Leaders Conference, where leaders and managers across MacIntyre came together to learn from each other and share ideas across the organisation.

We were delighted to welcome former Olympian Roger Black as one of our inspirational speakers. Sharing the highs and lows of his Olympic career, Roger promoted the benefits of teamwork, determination and resilience even in challenging times.

Not only this, but Roger's visit coincided with the Ann Craft Trust's National Safeguarding Adults Week, which we have once again contributed to in 2019.

Ever the good sport, Roger was more than happy to discuss safeguarding with the team and even pose for a photo.

We'd like to take the opportunity to thank Roger for attending our Inspiring Leaders Conference and for sharing his incredible story.

If you have missed any of our National Safeguarding Adults Week content this year, all stories from modern slavery to Transforming Care are available to read now.
