MacIntyre’s Approach to Quality

14 August 2024
News

As part of our series setting out MacIntyre’s approach, today we’re looking at our Quality Framework.

MacIntyre’s DNA is our number one measure of quality. This, along with understanding people, informs all of our quality systems. To review how we’re doing we use an accessible DNA Checklist to see how people are offering and experiencing support to check if it’s respectful, kind, fun and to consider how can we do better.

The foundations of MacIntyre’s quality approach start with our recruitment process. We believe that a focus on attracting people who share MacIntyre’s values is crucial for delivering high quality and person-centred support. Our focus on values attracts like-minded people who embody our values of empathy, respect, and inclusion and are committed to building strong relationships within their local communities. Finding a different way to attract and retain colleagues where we feel connected to one another and to MacIntyre’s vision.

• Alignment with Our DNA: Recruiting for values ensures that our staff share the fundamental beliefs that drive MacIntyre and creates a cohesive and motivated team dedicated to improving the lives of those who draw on support

• Community Integration: By focusing on values such as empathy, respect, and inclusion, we attract individuals who are naturally inclined to create strong connections within the communities where people live, learn and work. This is crucial for our goal of living gloriously ordinary lives.

• Cultural Fit: Employees who embody our values are more likely to fit into MacIntyre culture, leading to better teamwork, higher job satisfaction and, ultimately, better outcomes for the people we support.

In MacIntyre’s new strategy, to be launched in September 2024, we set out the “behaviours that underpin success”. These include:

  • I am ambitious for the people who draw on our support
  • I connect and contribute to local neighbourhoods
  • I look for ways to involve people in communities where they feel valued for their contribution
  • I bring my gifts, skills and passions to work with me
  • I have conversations/connect with people to learn more about their gifts, skills and passions
  • I check with people to make sure people are happy with the lives they are living.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s the DNA song made by people who draw on MacIntyre’s support and performed at a MacIntyre Leadership Conference:
