People with learning disabilities, in particular people with Down's Syndrome, are at an increased risk of developing dementia. At MacIntyre, we are dedicated to raising awareness of learning disabilities and dementia, to ensure a timely diagnosis.
On Thursday 11 February Jane Nickels, MacIntyre's Learning Disability Admiral Nurse, will be presenting at the Brace 'Dementia and Learning Disabilities' online event covering:
- The links between learning disability and dementia
- Supporting a timely diagnosis (incorporating the Anticipatory Care Calendar)
- Importance of circles of support
- Life stories – What are they and why use them?
- Planning for the future
- Sharing resources
Whilst this session is now sold out, you can sign up to the next event on 20 May 2021, via: https://www.alzheimers-brace.org/Event/dementia-learn-disabilities
