Learners at MacIntyre’s Swanwick Lifelong Learning Centre in Derbyshire have been getting crafty, by painting and hiding rocks in their local community.
Michelle Wilkinson, Frontline Manager at MacIntyre said:
“We have hidden the rocks in the local community, close to our local school. The children have to find a rock bring it into our centre and collect a prize. We can’t wait to see who finds the first rocks. Happy hunting!”
The rocks, which have been painted with a purple 'M' for MacIntyre, have encouraged the people the people we support to engage with their local community, even inspiring a visit to their local primary school.
Sharing the news online, the staff at Mary Swanwick Primary and Nursery School added:
“This morning we received a lovely visit from Christopher and Lindon who are supported by MacIntyre. Alongside their fellow learners, they have been busy painting stones emblazoned with an ‘M', ready to hide around Swanwick Hall & the library this weekend.”
The challenge begins from Monday 21 January; so if you happen to find yourself in the area, keep your eyes peeled for rocks, with a difference.
