At MacIntyre No Limits, we know the small moments matter.
Why Walks are a simple way of noticing what’s happening day to day, by dropping into sessions and paying attention to the things that make a real difference for young people.
They give us a snapshot of the quality of everyday support in a natural, unplanned way, maybe while passing through a room or pausing to watch a young person and their team in a session.
In the video below, Lead Programme Coordinators Lucy Gyau-Awuah and Vikki Spiller share what Why Walks are, and how they help us notice the small things that matter in everyday life at No Limits.
During a Why Walk, we look at what’s happening and why. Is the session right for the young person? Does it connect to their learning goals? Are they supported, listened to, and able to shape what they’re doing?
You might see a cooking session building independence, or a learning activity shaped around something a young person enjoys. Why Walks help everyone learn from each other, shining a light on what’s working well and giving us the chance to build on it together.
Most of all, they help ensure support at No Limits stays personal, purposeful, and shaped around the young people at the heart of it.
