In Volunteers’ Week, today we’d like to shine a light and recognise the contribution of MacIntyre’s Trustees.
MacIntyre Trustees and senior management team work together to ensure the delivery of our vision “for all people to live a life that makes sense to them”. The Trustee group ensure that the highest governance standards are achieved and that the requirements of all our regulators are met.
Many of our Trustees have a strong connection with MacIntyre, either through having relatives supported by MacIntyre or as parents of disabled children and adults themselves. Our Chairman, John Berriman, is the brother of one of the first people supported by MacIntyre.
Our Trustees bring their expertise in the areas of the law, finance, education, medicine, risk management, property, marketing and HR. The Trustees have been fully involved in steering the organisation through the pandemic and meet regularly with MacIntyre’s senior management at bi-monthly board meetings and through a number of sub-committees. They also spend time with the children, young people and adults who draw on MacIntyre’s support and with the workforce at informal and formal events.
