Bob is a young man who loves food and cooking, and dreams of being a chef one day.
He talked about his future, his hopes and dreams at a review meeting at his college, but unfortunately the college could not find a suitable placement for Bob and his time there came to an end.
Finding next steps
MacIntyre staff worked together with Bob, his family, and local teams in Chesterfield to identify some opportunities.
Someone came up with the idea of a placement near where he lives: High Ashes Rural Project.
At High Ashes, people work side by side on a variety of projects, including creating woodland, gardening and poly tunnel work. After all the first step to cooking food is growing it!
Bob is trying lots of different activities at his placement to find out what he wants to focus on. He's loving it and gaining in confidence!
Another kind of adventure
Not content with this placement, Bob is also spending time at The Adventure Centre in Chesterfield.
Future plans
Looking to the future, Bob now is on the path to moving into his own supported living accommodation in due course. There's no hurry, for now he's focusing on his work at High Ashes.
