We're happy to share our 'Employees of the Month' for December. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of MacIntyre Adult Services, Children and Young People, No Limits, and Support Services, together with an extract from their nominations.
Jodie Ward - Adult Services, Bedfordshire
Jodie always goes above and beyond. Nothing is ever too much!! Jodie is someone who always finds a positive solution and looks for the best outcome for the people we support and her colleagues. Jodie really got behind 'Everyone/Everywhere' and took the Christmas Santa event at Ampthill Lifelong learning centre in her stride. She reached out to local businesses, food banks, charities and local people. The donations received were truly overwhelming. Jodie's interactions with both the people who draw on our support and colleagues is always warm, kind, friendly and welcoming. She is always thinking about what can be achieved next and how the people who attend lifelong learning centre can continue to grow and develop new skills.
Katrina McGlynn: Children and Young People, Wingrave
Katrina, our Therapy Assistant, has gone above and beyond to support a young man who is new to us through challenging times. He has been through several failed placements which have caused him deep feelings of insecurity and difficulty in channeling those emotions. Katrina supports the young man positively. An example of this was one morning when she supported in a way which made sense to him, re-directing him to repeatedly throw a ball at the wall, encouraging him to channel those heightened raw emotions in an acceptable and appropriate way. She stayed with him, she supported him and she supported staff. Katrina always takes the time to talk it all through, to have her own debrief - this is excellent role modelling to staff and contributes to positive staff morale.
Bruce Smith: No Limits, Milton Keynes
Bruce has had a busy time since he became the Programme Manager for No Limits Milton Keynes, but this month has been exceptionally demanding for Bruce, but he has coped really well, ensuring that his team have received the support and guidance they need. He’s always calm and professional and it’s a pleasure to work with him.
Claire Harris: Support Services
Claire Harris in our Finance team is a fundamental part of us being able to provide good support to people. Claire is efficient, good at her job but she's also compassionate and kind and goes above and beyond to make sure that we operate properly and in the right time frame. Claire's also forward thinking making sure that we anticipate challenges before they happen and communicates this to us clearly. I think Claire lives our DNA everyday and want her to know how much she's appreciated.
