Jamie has always loved music – it helps him express himself and brings him a real sense of peace, especially when things feel overwhelming due to his learning disabilities and mental health challenges.
Recently Jamie, who lives in Greater Manchester, saved up and bought his first set of DJ decks. He was so excited, but they turned out to be really complicated to use. It knocked his confidence a bit.
Luckily, his neighbour and friend, Brandon, popped in one day, saw him struggling, and offered some advice.
Brandon used to DJ himself and suggested a simpler set that would be better for learning. Together they found a more suitable pair, and Jamie bought them.
Since then, Brandon’s been helping Jamie learn the basics. Bit by bit, Jamie’s been growing in confidence and skill, and loving every minute of it.
