For 20 years, the MacIntyre and Abingdon & Witney College Partnership (MAP) has supported young people with learning disabilities and autism to grow, thrive and lead fulfilling lives. Over those years, MAP has supported hundreds of students to take their next steps, whether that’s in education, volunteering or greater independence.
At the end of last month a small event was held to celebrate this milestone. Joined by Jacqui Canton, Principal at Abingdon & Witney College Principal and Yvonne Nugent, Assistant Director, Children and Young People at MacIntyre, we heard about the early beginnings of the Partnership and how it has now become an established part of the offer available through the College.
MAP College in Oxfordshire was MacIntyre’s first site offering it’s “No Limits” education for 16-25 year olds for whom a mainstream college place wasn’t meeting their needs.
MacIntyre now offers No Limits in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Leicestershire, Milton Keynes, and Warwickshire. We continue to work in partnership with local further education colleges, but are now also able to offer support directly through local authority ‘Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) funding – we call this No Limits Direct.
You can find more information about MacIntyre No Limits™ on our website.
Meanwhile, enjoy this video collaboration which will show you more about our joint venture in Abingdon.
