At MacIntyre, teamwork is essential to overcome challenges and provide support that is truly person centred. At the Marjorie Newton Wright Awards 2019, one team stood out to the judges as having gone above and beyond in the past year.
Winners – Swanwick Lifelong Learning Team
The judges chose Swanwick Lifelong Learning as it was clearly evident that the team had taken great lengths to ensure that the people they support were kept at the heart of everything they did, despite environmental challenges.
The entire team have worked hard to guarantee consistency and stability for the people, remaining positive and committed to always putting others first whilst building work took place.
One of the team’s nominations said:
“Staff had to change their whole way of facilitating sessions while we were waiting for building work to start which was a lengthy process. Staff did a brilliant job of supporting people and making the transition and smooth as possible. The team worked with people’s parents and carers in a thoughtful, person centred way.”
